Celebrating Women | Partner Spotlight: Ashlie and Thirty-One Gifts

“Thirty-One has a mission to celebrate, encourage and reward women, and this is one way I can do that for women who desperately need it.”

Ashlie Cravens has supported BDS from the very beginning.

She listened as Jennifer Crow, founder of BDS and pastor of Victory Church in Oklahoma City, shared the dream she’d had that launched Beautiful Dream Society. “I have watched BDS grow from the beginning,” Ashlie said. A staff member of Victory Church at the time, Ashlie explains, “I was involved in many aspects of getting donations to Lesotho and helping sell products here in the states to raise money.”

Most recently, now an Independent Senior Consultant for Thirty-One Gifts, Ashlie sought a way to use her work to bless the women in our Oklahoma City human trafficking shelter. “Thirty-One has a mission to celebrate, encourage and reward women, and this is one way I can do that for women who desperately need it.” She had an idea when she learned that the young women we serve at the BDS shelter usually arrive with only the clothes on their back.

Knowing that BDS gives our precious new arrivals a care package of toiletry items, Ashile and her mom, Patsi, donated a dozen Round About Caddies, a product of Thirty-One Gifts. “When I saw the caddy, I knew it would be great to hold their stuff. It is big and durable, so it is something they could keep for a while and use even when they left the house.”

Ashlie’s gift gives human trafficking victims who come to our shelter a bright, cheerful caddy to call their own. But it’s more than that: it’s a message to these women that they are valuable, that they can have nice things, and that someone out there cares about them. Messages like this build hope and self-worth, which are crucial to our cherished ladies’ recovery and restoration. “I love that I can still be involved and give those coming out of human trafficking something of their own,” Ashlie said. Thank you, Ashlie, for your kindness and generosity to our lovely gals!

Ashlie understands the key to joining the movement to end human trafficking: everyone has an important role to play. Our hobbies, our interests, our jobs, our skills, our passions…we all have something to contribute.
