Drawing attention to the issue of human trafficking is a priority for Foolish Things General Manager, James Markiewicz. “I feel that human trafficking is greatly overlooked in our society. There aren’t very many awareness campaigns that I know of. So I try to take hold of any opportunity that I’m presented with to help stop it. We are very fortunate to have the space to offer organizations for events like this.”

Dedication to the cause of ending human trafficking lines up with Foolish Things’ mission to use their place to makefoolish things indoor people’s lives better. James explains, “I feel our role in the community is to provide a safe place for people. Whether it be to escape your busy life for a few minutes over a finely crafted beverage, or just provide a peaceful atmosphere for people to relax and have a one on one conversation.”

Next Tuesday’s event will feature speakers from the Tulsa Police Department, Beautiful Dream Society, and Unlock Freedom who will educate the community about human trafficking in Oklahoma. But just as importantly, the Rally will connect community members with Tulsa-area anti-human trafficking organizations, who will have booths at the event.
