A BDS child’s unhindered progress

Rose has been at the Beautiful Dream Society (BDS) children’s home for a while now, and she is a true testimony of God’s love and grace. Her smile is contagious and always coupled with an affectionate hug.

Rose was diagnosed with developmental delay, but that has not hindered her from exploring and discovering new things.

Her schoolwork, speech, and movement have improved, and her teacher says she enjoys doing practicals more than theoretical work.

This month, we saw her participate in sports activities with the Kick4Life coaches, and she was very active and involved in using the three-legged pot for baking and cooking; this was a new skill for all of our kids.

In October, the children visited Morija Museum and Archives. The museum has three tours, including dinosaur footprints at the top of the hill. Rose surprised us when she insisted on climbing the hill with other children.

Due to her unsteady gait, we thought she would stay behind with one of the caregivers, but she asked one of her sisters to hold her hand to assist with balance. She successfully finished all the tours! The joy and excitement she expressed after this accomplishment was priceless.

Rose has been very open in expressing her feelings lately. When she first came to the BDS Children’s Homes, her siblings were concerned and constantly checking on her. Now, she is very verbal about what she wants and how she feels about performing certain tasks.

Church attendance is one of the activities she enjoys, and she was overjoyed when church re-opened after lockdown. God is definitely ministering His love through Rose, and we cannot wait to see her future unfold!
