Making a difference in children’s lives

Lereko is a 15-year-old boy who has been staying at BDS’ children’s homes since 2013. He has been homeschooled since first grade due to intellectual development delay. Despite this obstacle, there has been a huge improvement since he first arrived.

Because of his significant improvement, his teacher suggested that he be enrolled in public school to experience and adapt to the environment before high school.

Preparations were made to get him into school, and when he was asked about the first day, he was so excited—almost like he was waiting to be asked! He has even come up with potential schools he would love to attend in the future.

Lereko now attends the same local school his other siblings attended, and he will be in fifth grade. He will not walk this journey alone; his teacher will be there for him after school to assist with homework, and we are trusting God that it will be a smooth transition.

Lereko is one of the Beautiful Dream Society kids put up for adoption but has not found a suitable family yet. Being around the same people all his life and seeing other children from the BDS home leave to be with their families has been challenging for him.

We pray that being exposed to a public school will help him make new friends and hear what other children are going through. We are also hopeful that his situation will change, and he will find a loving home with a great family.

If you’d like to help and support children like Lereko, we encourage and appreciate all donations, which you can make on the Beautiful Dream Society website. Thank you all for your support as we continue making a difference in these children’s lives!
