At Beautiful Dream Society, every small act of care creates a ripple through a child’s confidence, a mother’s resilience, and a student’s opportunity. May was filled with those quiet yet powerful ripples as our children, house mothers, and supporters celebrated everyday victories and significant milestones.
Here’s a glimpse into the life-changing moments you helped make possible.
Showing up for school—and saving along the way
Thanks to the continued support from our partners at CBN, five high school students were transported to school every day in May. Not a single class was missed. That’s not just about attendance, routine, dignity, and building futures.
Even more encouraging? The children have started walking home with their peers when the weather allows, using the savings from their transport budget to buy small treats at school. It’s a simple thing that’s building financial responsibility and independence—a reminder that when we invest in access, we also nurture growth.
Healthy meals, thanks to hardworking house mothers
Throughout May, all 16 children in residence at BDS received three nutritious meals daily. It might sound basic, but consistent nourishment is new and life-changing for many children.
Behind every meal is the incredible effort of our house mothers. On May 28th, they embarked on one of their longest and most important tasks: grocery shopping day. Each mother came armed with a carefully planned list tailored to her household’s unique needs. The process takes the entire day, and their dedication ensures not just full stomachs but also a sense of home and care.
Eye care and early diagnosis
We also supported three children in receiving eye care, covering their transport and registration fees. Two boys showed marked improvement in vision with treatment underway. One of our girls was diagnosed with glaucoma—a serious, lifelong condition. Thankfully, because it was caught early, she received the medication and monthly follow-ups needed to preserve her vision. We thank God for that early intervention and pray for continued healing.
Mother’s Day moments—and memories made
We surprised six house mothers this Mother’s Day with a relaxing spa day with massages, sauna treatments, and a special lunch. These women pour themselves out daily for the children in their care, and it was an honor to pour back into them. Their joy and gratitude reminded us just how vital rest and recognition are.
We also celebrated the birthdays of two girls in our care, complete with thoughtful gifts to make their day special. At BDS, birthdays are about more than parties—they’re about celebrating lives that are deeply loved and valued.
Creativity and gratitude are on full display
Our children have been busy with hands-on skills training this month, making beautiful beaded jewelry and hand-designed cards for Mother’s Day and our donors. These tokens of appreciation were shared at our 15th-anniversary celebration and were a touching way for the children to connect with the people who make their lives possible.
Dancing into confidence
One of the most joyful moments came at church. On May 18th, we transported all our children to Victory Church’s 13th-anniversary celebration. Two of our youth participated in a powerful dance performance, including a young girl who had previously struggled with low self-esteem. Watching her shine on stage was nothing short of a miracle.
She danced again on May 31st during the BDS 15-year celebration, a joyful event filled with gratitude, reunion, and celebration. Former residents reconnected with old friends, and we were again reminded that the seeds we plant grow into lasting relationships.
Every story above is possible because of your support. Whether you gave financially, offered prayer, or encouraged our team, you are part of this. You stood in the gap, and our children are thriving because of you.
We’re so grateful to walk this journey with you.
