Creating a Safe Haven for Children
You may be asking, how does running a home for orphaned or destitute children address human trafficking? The answer may surprise you. Human traffickers go for the most vulnerable people who are willing to accept strange job requirements or strange requests. Traffickers will look at those who are naive or don't have a family to look after them.
Beautiful Dream Society rescues vulnerable children from deprivation, poverty, and sexual and physical abuse, restoring them to a loving family environment. These children have lost their parents, in large part, due to Lesotho's AIDS epidemic. Many of them have suffered terrible abuse at an incredibly young age, often arriving with severe wounds or serious medical conditions. Minor victims of human trafficking are also referred to ongoing care in the children’s homes when there is no safe place found for them after their time in the BDS crisis shelter. With BDS, children become part of the family unit for life or until they can safely reunify with extended family or other foster parents.
Will you partner with us to raise the next generation of strong Basotho?
Raising strong children
At Beautiful Dream Society, we know that orphans are especially vulnerable to trafficking. This is why we created our Children's homes, where we provide for children's physical, mental, and spiritual needs. Will you partner with us to ensure the can grow up safe and strong?
Want to hear about the joy of our Children's homes?
We can tell you the facts and figures about the children we serve, but you need to hear their stories to truly understand how they are blossoming in the most adverse situations. We share about the struggles and victories of those living in our care (when safe to do so) so you can hear how you bring joy and hope back to the lives of our children and human trafficking survivors. We also provide updates on our transit monitoring program and our children's village project!
