As each day passes, we grow closer to bringing to life one of our most exciting and ambitious projects: The Children’s Village. While maintaining our other operations, the team has made much progress, and we’d love to share it with you!
Despite facing some challenges due to the rainy season, we are pleased to inform you that the project is progressing steadily. Thanks to the dedication and expertise of our contractor, all work on the new terraced ground has successfully endured the heavy rains, ensuring the project remains on track.
A new focus
At present, our focus has shifted towards essential infrastructural necessities, namely water, sewer, and electricity. We are actively collaborating with esteemed partners such as the Maloti Rotary Club, the Bricktown Rotary Club, and other Oklahoma-based Rotary Clubs to secure the funds required for the water and sewer systems.
Through a Rotary International grant, we strive to cover the costs associated with these vital components, ensuring the sustainability and functionality of the Children’s Homes for generations.
Further need
Simultaneously, efforts are underway to raise funds for the electricity supply to the site. We are pleased to share that we have already secured 30% of the required funds for this purpose, marking a significant milestone in our journey. However, we still require an additional $39,000 to fulfill this critical need and provide the children with access to electricity, enhancing their quality of life and enabling a safer and more conducive environment for their growth and development.
